Okay, so, we have been loading up my host's server's CPU up quite a bit. I believe that it is caused by the new chat box, i kinda figured out away to fix this...at least, cut the load in half... To do this, I slowed down the refresh of the menu, and increased the refresh of the chat PAGE...so, if you want the speediness of what the chat box used to be like, then go to the chat page...
I also changed the colors while i was poking around, so yeah, now orange/yellow for the name/date on the posts and the background of the chat page...yeah, so, enjoy the change, change is good in life...

Stats - changes effecting them -Added automatic compression to all web pages that are loaded. Well, if the title didn't sum it up enough for you, read on.
The site was created on Monday 06 August 2007 - 22:13:00 and it has been up for 1 year. Now, as for this post, we will look back onto the site. And how far we have had to travel to make it here.
The site was originally created on a home computer, running off of a 15kb/s up - 90kb/s down connection...you can laugh. That took several hours, to get set up, then settings changed. It actually took about 2 days. We had difficulties getting the server up, ports forwarded, mysql up.. things like that. Then we had more things to do, get the settings, forums up...[When I say 'we' i mainly mean me, but i consider the original members, part of the project
The settings took a few hours, getting members took a few days, then the forum took off... We then had to find another way to host it.. I bought a HL2DM server from gameservers.com, that was a step forward because you get a free web server with their servers. We uploaded it there, we got 1GB of bandwidth a month, tiny but something. The site barely fit onto the allotted space, about 100MB. We never went over the limit though, which was good. After a while, I found this one site, they offered 3TB transfer / 300GB space for about 5 dollars a month...damn, i had to take it..so i did. And that is where our site is hosted still, hopefully forever.
One day, we may actually move the site, back into my house. Then it would be free, no bandwidth limits, and i would have a huge bandwidth pipe. Just a thought,
We used 4.62GB of total bandwidth for the site. Totaling, the server, the site, other mini sites i have made, meaning the whole web server's bandwidth.
Our last record was around 4GB, a few months ago. Yet, this increase is due to increased activity on the HL2DM server, the fast download is hosted by this web server.
In a little celebration I will be uploading new backgrounds, movies, etc... so keep an eye out for them, or upload your own..
There's a current limitation, that i am having difficulties breaking though, the upload file size limit, is 2MB. I did everything i should have, but it doesn't want to let me.. So stay under that limit. If it is bigger than that, and under 20MB, send it to my email, -email- and i will manually upload it via FTP.
I plan on adding a music player to the site, enjoy...once i get it set up again.
We have a new torrent system on the site. To add a torrent, simply upload it on the torrent page. To be able to use the stats that the tracker has, you have to use the tracker that it gives you. To do this, you would have to make a torrent of your own then upload it with that tracker on it. You can still upload your own without the tracker, just it will not add to your upload stats.
Yeah, i might play too, uh, and yeah, the voice thing, that would be a good idea, even though i like the phone because my voice is more accurate on the phone
hey gasp btw my friend william got a teamspeak server set up for the cabal guild were gonna do when some of our other friends get cabal and their computers working again. You wanna use it and talk to use? or go on there with mel on voice or something? it still needs some tweaking but william can get you set up
